Raftr Cookie Policy

This is the Cookie Policy for Raftr, accessible from https://www.raftr.com/policies/cookies.

In this document, “we”, “our”, “us”, and any other first person pronouns refer to Raftr, Inc.  “You”. “your”, and any other second person pronouns refer to any user/users of Raftr products.

What Are Cookies

As is common practice with almost all professional websites, Raftr uses cookies as part of its browser products.  Cookies are tiny files that websites automatically download to your computer to improve your experience. This page describes what information Raftr gathers, how we use it, and why we sometimes need to store these cookies. We will also share how you can prevent these cookies from being stored; however, this will prevent you from logging into the site.

Disabling Cookies

You can prevent websites from setting cookies by adjusting the settings on your browser (see your browser’s support information for how to do this). Be aware that disabling cookies will affect the functionality of Raftr and many other websites that you visit. As mentioned above, if you disable cookies, you will not be able to log into the Raftr website. Therefore it is recommended that you do not disable cookies.

The Cookies We Set

We reserve the right to alter this information on an ongoing basis and will keep it updated here.

  • Account related cookies: If you create an account with us then we will use cookies for the management of the signup process.
  • Login related cookies:  We use cookies to store a code called a “token”.  Tokens are unique to a given user and are how we recognize that a user is already logged in.  This is what allows us to log you in automatically when you visit Raftr, thus keeping you from having to re-login every time you visit the site. This is also what allows us to keep you logged in for a single session and is also why disabling cookies prevents you from completing the login process.  These cookies will usually be deleted when you log out. However, in some cases they may remain afterwards to remember your site preferences when logged out. If you clear your cookies, you will be logged out; the next time you log in we will store a new cookie.
  • Referral tokens: Sometimes we do contests that reward existing users for onboarding new users.  If you sign up for Raftr using a referral link from an existing user we use a temporary cookie to ensure that that referring user gets credit to this.
  • Testing: From time to time we test new features and make subtle changes to the way that the site is delivered. When we are still testing new features we may use cookies to ensure that you receive a consistent experience on the site, and also to help us understand which optimizations our users appreciate the most.

Third Party Links

If you click on any link in our apps that takes you to a website with a domain other than raftr.com, our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy no longer applies.  You may find the privacy policy and cookie policy on that site for that information.

Third party cookies

In some special cases we also use cookies provided by trusted third parties. The following section details which third party cookies you might encounter through this site:

Raftr uses a number of trustworthy analytics services–including Google Analytics, Mixpanel, and Heap–to help us to understand how you use the site and how we can improve your experience. These services may leave cookies to track things like how long you spend on the site or which pages you visit.  We use that information to help us continue to produce engaging content. The analytics data generated by these cookies is anonymized. We are only looking at trends, not at your specific actions on the site.

We also use Sentry.IO to help us track server errors and software bugs in our products.  As part of this process we or Sentry may set cookies to help us gather additional information about an issue you’re experiencing.
