Head of Sales

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Sales will join Raftr at an integral point in the organization’s growth trajectory. This executive will be a strategic leader in shaping Raftr’s sales department, developing an action-oriented sales team and driving scalable and repeatable sales processes. The Head of Sales will have responsibility for direct sales (mostly telesales), channel partnerships, client retention, lead generation, pipeline management, and sales forecasting. This position will recruit and manage a multidisciplinary sales team through a period of rapid growth, building incentive compensation and enablement strategies to retain top-tier talent. In addition, this executive will leverage existing client relationships to inform and advise collateral build and go-to-market strategy for legacy and new product offerings.

  • Lead Raft’s sales organization and company growth strategy, including expansion of new and existing clients and forming strategic partnerships to accelerate revenue growth
  • Evaluate, operationalize, and scale existing sales organization, leveraging data and building infrastructure (e.g. implementing sales methodologies, tracking sales performance, and optimizing pricing models, etc.) to enable real-time visibility into the efficacy of the lead generation process and the health of the pipeline to accurately predict revenue and growth against targets
  • Serve as both a “player” and a “coach” with responsibility for individually generating and fostering leads in addition to recruiting, motivating, and retaining a top-tier sales team
  • Review and recommend compensation structures to appropriately incentivize sales professionals in line with Raftr’s growth trajectory and culture
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team, and investors to develop ongoing company growth targets, and contribute to the strategic vision for Raftr and its stakeholders
  • Capture customer feedback and communicate to Raftr’s team, collaborating around product innovation to address existing and new market opportunities
  • Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred
  • Strong process orientation and a successful track record building, developing, leading, motivating and scaling high-performing sales teams in fast-growing environments
  • Extremely well networked within the higher education community, particularly with an existing relationship base of key Universities and their student affairs departments
  • Demonstrated sales leader, who has successfully scaled and/or successfully exited a VC/PE-backed organization.
  • Strong knowledge of and work experience inside of the enterprise technology space specifically navigating the higher education sales cycle
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and drive; understands how to efficiently utilize resources (i.e. capital and talent) to recognize the corporate vision
  • Mission-driven leader, with a passion for building and inspiring great team culture through positivity, creativity, and humility
