Active User

Active users measure how many unique users visit or interact with the product or service over a given interval.

Daily Active User

Daily Active Users, or “DAU”, is a term used for the total number of people who open and engage with the platform in a given day. When reported over a span of time (i.e., a month for monthly reports), the number reported is the average daily number across that period of time.

Weekly Active Users

Weekly Active Users, or “WAU”, is a term used for the total number of people who open and engage with the platform over the course of 7 days. When reported over a span of time greater than one week (i.e., a month for monthly reports), the number reported is the average number across that period of time.

Monthly Active Users

Monthly Active Users, or “MAU”, is a term used for the total number of people who open and engage with the platform over the course of 30 days.

Contributing User

While active user metrics provide insight into platform access, Contributing User counts will reveal how many users completed an action over the course of the reported timeframe.

Sessions

Sessions reveal how many times the platform was accessed by registered users over a period of time. This number includes multiple sessions by single unique users, providing detail into how frequently users access the platform.

Session Duration

Session Duration averages the length of time of all sessions, giving administrators a snapshot of how long users remain in the app each time it is accessed.
